Personal emergency response pendant
At Amica Little Lake, we’ve created a safe and nurturing environment on a dedicated floor with complete support for residents living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. From architecturally designed accessible suites to an inviting dining room serving daily meals prepared by on-site chefs, our dedicated setting ensures around-the-clock support for residents in memory care and peace of mind for families.
Caring and certified staff
Certified in dementia care, our staff are passionate about providing attentive care to help residents find joy and purpose every day while living with changes related to cognitive aging. We also offer support for families during and after the transition to senior living in Barrie. Our carefully developed memory care program was created by Dr. Heather Palmer, Director of Cognitive Well-Being for Amica Senior Lifestyles and a former Research Director for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Other senior living operators base their staffing ratios on annual budgets. At Amica Little Lake, we use a variable staffing model designed to meet the actual care needs of our residents in memory care. As our residents require more support, we increase our staffing levels. Your medical needs will be overseen by our Director of Wellness, a registered nurse selected for their education, experience, clinical background and expertise working with seniors. A Wellness Coordinator helps organize care services for every resident. Residents also appreciate knowing a registered nurse is on duty around the clock and that they will have the same friendly, certified aides providing assistance every day.
Engaging activities
We provide innovative group activities and one-on-one time to cater to each senior’s interests and well-being. Residents experience fond memories while attending specialized music workshops, express their creative side during hands-on workshops, or find purpose in volunteering around the residence. You can expect exceptional personalized support customized to the unique needs of every senior in memory care at Amica Little Lake.
